Lovin' the Bus

I truly enjoy taking the bus in this city. I find it to be a wonderful experience, full of the diversity of people and the freedom of not having to be concerned about traffic. I think the biggest barrier I had to riding the bus more was the uncertainty of the whole process. In actuality the bus and Max system in Portland is an awesome way to get around because you can get almost anywhere you want in a good amount of time.

I learned that when I just trusted my self to be where I needed to be on time and just relaxed and enjoyed, I connected with ease and my trips were quick and effortless.

One of my favorite things about the bus is “the Poetry in Motion®, a program that brings the work of local and national poets to transit vehicles. Now in its eighth year of the program, TriMet continues to partner with the non-profit arts organization Literary Arts, Inc. to make riding the bus and train a more pleasurable experience. Other sponsors include Lamar Advertising, the Poetry Society of America and Comcast.”

Ride the bus; it is a perfect opportunity to love one another!

My new favorite is Lyric 12, which states: I believe in myself slowly; it takes all the doubt I’ve got; it takes my wonder.

When you ride the bus, you can practice loving yourself by observing what you are being judgmental about in other people. Take that quality that you are having the negative thoughts about and see how they are alive in your life. What would you prefer to feel?

If you just rode the bus once a week, can you imagine how much better of a person could you be?

Infinity In A Grain Of Sand

My cat thinks that a patch of sunshine on concrete is the best thing in the world. She is resting outstretched out in ‘smiling repose”. Ralph Waldo Emerson said that “finite that has wrought and suffered; the infinite lies stretched in smiling repose.

I imagine a cat, resting in the sunshine on a hot summers day, reflects the Infinite power that churns and mold our lives.

Life is meant to be easy, joyful and free. Beliefs and habits that many people carry with them are the first and biggest limits to a person’s happiness.

The Infinite, the thing that goes on forever and ever is not bothered by the problems that loom so big in your mind. Remember this; each and every problem will be solved upon the moment of your death, so relax, breath and affirm that you are in harmony with energy of Life.

Only One Mind

I realize that half the challenge in changing my life is asking the right questions. Questions like “How am I thinking about my life now?” “What are my limits?” “What do I believe is true about life?” brings you to clear understanding of what you do not want in your life.
From the place of contrast, I see what I really DO want. Getting clear about what I really want to feel in life will give me the opportunity to change my thought and then life.We are Beings of pure, positive Energy and that the same energy that keeps the planets in alignment is the same energy that beats our hearts. What is true for One Being is true for All Beings. We are not creations of some higher Being so much as we are consciousness formed in such a way that looks like our body, and imbued with the same traits as Beings of Higher understanding. We are the part of the Whole of Consciousness that we individually use. Individually we are creators of our own experiments; collectively we are Designers of our Universe.
I am grateful that there are Beings with more wisdom than the “I that is Me”. I can get limited in my thinking for a limited time only. I relax and let in the Infinite Wisdom that controls worlds to come forth into my thoughts and feelings to control the conditions of my individual life. It is good! I am wise and I use knowledge wisely.

Beyond Appearances

What is necessary to change a person is to change his awareness of himself." Abraham Maslow“To live affirmatively is to live as God lives, so we must plunge beneath the appearance. Here is where the test comes. We are testing ourselves to see whether we can forget evil and conceive more good, let go of limitation and take hold of the limitless, let go of the appearance and embrace reality.”E. Holmes from www.website.lineone.net/~ernestholmes/holmes2.htmI know we live in a world of limitations, barriers, challenges and contrast, we would not want it any other way! We could not create without the contrast of life to point us to our desires! From the contrast, the struggle, the challenges we are called to a higher, wiser, broader experience of life.Often challenges are not wanted, they are painful and we humans will do anything we can to avoid them. We fight, we worry, and we struggle against the flow of life and each other. All the attention to what we don’t want to experience creates more of that experience because that is where our attention is.What is the appearance that we must plunge beneath? Any appearance or manifestation or feeling of lack, separation, pain… It is not real; it is not Truth, it is limiting ideas appearing as real. Today I look beyond the appearance of lack and limitation in my life and affirm that I am a limitless being, living in a limitless universe, with a limitless desire and I will always, always be loved!
