A class I once took in creative marketing, and other key experiences in my life, has led me to think about how “mass-marketing” as a way to sell products is largely counter-productive to living a life based in Abundance.
Supply and demand is created by telling consumers they must purchase NOW…before supplies run out; purchase NOW, be the first on your block to get It!
Could this type of marketing be used to confirm a belief of the struggle in getting our Good?
I found this beautiful, inspiring, motivating, and enlightening video created by a company that is “committed to raising the consciousness at this time of the year.” Yet right above that statement is this:
"Grab Yourself A Copy... We Are In Limited Supply!"
(The color red thrown in there to stimulate action!)
I stopped…stared the screen and then started laughing at the realization that this company…one that touts an Infinite Universe that is jonesing to fulfill your every desire…is marketing in such a fear-based way. The message is clear. “Unlimited Universe…except for our seasonal DVD. It’s limited! Buy NOW before you lose out! Impossible to simply make more, so you must buy NOW! We live in an finite world of DVD’s, money and greed, so we want your money, NOW!”
Is that the message businesses want consumers to hear when they market their wares by saying “LIMITED SUPPLY, BUY NOW”?
We are trained by even our most spiritual Leaders and Businesses that we must give now, buy now, do it now… because it all rests on what you DO, in order for them to somehow have a better, more abundant life.
We reward negative behavior by paying attention to it. Can we start paying attention and giving money to people and businesses that know what/where their Source is? Can we imagine a world better than this? Can we vision for an unlimited supply? Can we accept our Good?
I am living in world surrounded by unlimited potential, possibilities and Love. Whatever else I need, or We need…is manifested as we continue to see good in the world. I see good in my world and in the world of those around me.
